Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Laos’ Kaysone Phomvihane Memorial Museum signed a cooperation agreement for the 2012-2013 period in Vientiane on August 23.
Under the agreement Vietnam will support Laos in repairing and upgrading the Kaysone Phomvihane Memorial Museum and undertake a project to build Ho Chi Minh memorial sites in Khammouane and Savanakhet provinces, as well as the capital city of Vientiane.
The two sides also agreed to improve exchanges of specialists and documents related to both countries’ late presidents’ mausoleums.
The Kaysone Phomvihane Memorial Museum is a historical, cultural and tourism destination for both Lao people and foreign visitors. Many treasured items and documents related to the founder and former leader of the Lao People"s Revolutionary Party as well as the country’s struggle for national independence and its process of construction are preserved there.
