President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Pany Yathotu
A high ranking delegation led by President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Pany Yathotu paid a working visit to the northern province of Ninh Binh on August 26.
At the working session, Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Thang briefed the guest on recent socio-economic development in the locality. Over the past five years, the province’s average growth rate has reached more than 16 percent while its political security and social order remain stable.
Mr Thang noted that many local businesses want to strengthen cooperation and expand investment in Laos. He expressed hope that through the visit, the Lao delegation will learn more about the land and people of Hoa Lu ancient capital.
For his part, Lao NA President Pany Yathotu informed the Ninh Binh leaders of the fine results of her official visit to Vietnam. She affirmed that the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos will continue to grow and flourish forever.
The Lao NA President expressed strong belief that the provincial party administration and people will successfully implement the resolution of the 11th National Party Congress, thus helping to turn Vietnam into a modern industrialized nation by 2020.
At the working session, both sides discussed issues of mutual concern such as experiences in administrative reforms, land management, poverty reduction and movements to build new rural areas.
On the occasion, the Lao delegation visited Ninh Binh Fertilizer Plant which is expected to become operational early next year. The project has a total investment of more than US$667 million.
