PANO – A Lao military officer delegation, led by Colonel Mala Bunmanivon, Director of Staff, under the General Department of Logistics of Lao People’s Army, has paid a working visit to Engineers Regiment 550, the 4th Corps of Vietnam People’s Army.
During a warm reception, Colonel Vo Trong He, Deputy-Commander of the Corps, and Regiment 550’s troops, welcomed the Lao delegation. After briefing on the Regiment’s history and its current development, Colonel Nguyen Hong Khanh, Commander of the Regiment, invited Lao officers to visit the unit.
At a working session, two sides exchange views on their common concerns on command and staff missions and tasks of building up regular and elite units. Especially, the delegation highly appreciated the unit’s economic model for garden, fish, cattle and poultry farming (known as the VAC model).
At the end of the session, the Lao delegation and Regiment 550 hoped that they would have more chances to exchange their experiences in the future.
