The branch of Agricultural Promotion Bank in Champassak province is preparing over 6.9 billion kip of loan for stimulating agricultural production of farmers who have been affected by flood.
Head of branch, Mr. Chomchit Thongkhamsouk has said that the loan was to replant agricultural production after the water level receding.
“Almost 2,000 families of rice farming have been reportedly fallen to the flood victim. Out of total amount, of which 60% was the regular customers of bank. So the bank will expand the period of debt clearance for flood victims,” said Mr. Chomchit.
The current fiscal year period of 2010-2011, the Champassak-based branch of Agricultural Promotion Bank has released around 175 billion kip of loan to promote animal husbandry and agriculture production in the province.
