Vietnamese Party leader receives new Lao ambassador

Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received in Hanoi on 1 September new Lao Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune, who has just started his term of office in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Party leader said he believes Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune will fulfil the tasks assigned by the Lao Party and State, contributing to strengthening and developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.

He thanked the Lao Party, State and people for their support and assistance to Vietnam, affirming the Vietnam-Laos special relations were the two countries’ invaluable treasure and needed to be preserved and promoted.

Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune affirmed that he will spare no effort to make contributions to bringing the Laos-Vietnam traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation to a new height.
