Airplane part factory construction almost complete
Ninety per cent of the construction of the first airplane parts factory in Laos has been confirmed done since its commencement eight months ago.
Vice-Governor of Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone, Mr. Thongsay Sayavongkhamdy said that the under construction factory was the investment by Aero Works in Asia whose parent company is in Holland.
The company has just installed machines and production equipments in the factory and the completion of the construction is expected for this year’s end when its trial production is expected to commence, according to Mr. Thongsay.
He said that the current nessessity for the company was to train 100 local workers before the commencement of the production.
The company has sent five Lao workers to train overseas and now they will be trainers for their fellows in Laos.
Customers of the factory will be the world’s airplane producers namely Airbus, Boeing, Sukhoi Super Jet and Mitsubishi, according to Mr. Thongsay.
Aero Works has decided to build the factory in Savannakhet due to the fact that the central province of Laos is located in the centre of the East and West Economic Corridor of the Greater Mekong Sub Region.
