Vientiane Public Works and Transport Service in cooperation with Huawei Technologies ( China) held a meeting to discuss a feasibility study of underground running of power cables and telephone lines in Vientiane on 5 September.
According to the Vientiane urban planning which has been approved by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), there are several constraints regarding the materialization of Vientiane’s six slogans of peace, cleanness, civilization, lushness, lighting and charm.
And these include power cables, internet and telephone lines that still run untidily along roads in the capital city.
Early this year, the Vientiane Public Works and Transport Service signed a memorandum of understanding on the feasibilities study of the underground running of power and telephone cables, the improvement of street lights systems and facilities the improvement and decoration of public parks in Vientiane Capital.
