The Vietnamese and Laos ministries of public security will continue to exchange information relating to fighting crime and increase training cooperation and technical assistance.
The cooperation plan was reached during talks between Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang and his Lao counterpart Thongban Sengaphon, in Vientiane on Sept. 5.
The two agreed to continue boosting bilateral cooperation and mutual help at regional and international forums, coordinate to fight drug trafficking, maintain security and order along the border.
They decided to build the Laos-Vietnam border line into one of peace, friendship, stability and development, contributing to developing comprehensive bilateral cooperation and meeting the two peoples’ aspirations.
At the talks, Minister Quang said his current visit to Laos from Sept. 5-7 aimed to contribute the Vietnam-Laos special friendship and enhance the security and defence of the two countries.
