Dr. Bosengkham Vongdala, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism has asked all staff of his ministry to further strengthening their unity and do their utmost to implementing the future plan of the ministry.
Dr. Bosengkham Vongdala who chaired a meeting held on 22 November to announce new leadership and organisational structure of his ministry also stressed the needs and challenges which his ministry has to overcome in the next few years.
On this occasion, Dr Bosengkham Vongdara also informed the meeting that Director General of Lao Press in Foreign Languages Mr Savankhone Razmountry has been appointed one of two deputy ministers.
Former vice presidents of the Lao National Tourism Administration (LNTA) Mr Soukaseum Bodhisane and Mr Vang Rattanavong have retired, while another former LNTA vice president Dr Sila Mounthalavong has moved to a new post at the Lao National Institute of Social Sciences, said Dr. Bosengkham Vongdala.
Dr Bosengkham committed to working hard to ensure all goals are achieved despite changes in the ministrys leadership and organisational structure.
We have many tasks to complete, so I urge all officials to strengthen their solidarity and ensure all projects are continuously implemented as planned, he said. This year, the government has made changes to its structure and there are now 18 ministries and three ministry-equivalent bodies. The changes are aimed at achieving the Millennium Development Goals by 2015 and moving Laos off the UN list of least developed countries by 2020.
