A delegation of the Government Inspectorate, led by Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh, held talks with its Lao counterpart headed by Inspector General Bounthong Chitmany in Vientiane on February 17.
Both host and guest informed each other of their countries’ socio-economic situation as well as the inspection sector’s contribution to economic development and social security in each country.
They also shared their experience in settling complaints and denunciation and combating corruption. They highlighted the effective cooperation in the framework of three cooperation agreements signed by the two inspection agencies since 1995.
They also agreed to promote the exchange of experts and information, as well as human resources training.
Vietnam has run two training courses for Lao inspectors so far.
Also on February 17, the Vietnamese delegation was received by Lao Deputy PM Somsavat Lengsavat, who is also Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Subcommittee for Cooperation.
