Young Vietnamese and Lao journalists step up cooperation
Vietnam’s Thieu Nien Tien Phong, or Youth Pioneers Newspaper, and the Newspaper for young Lao people, have signed a memorandum of understating on their cooperation from 2012 to 2015.
The MoU was signed by the Editor in Chief of the Youth Pioneers Newspaper, Vu Quang Vinh, and his counterpart from the Laos newspaper, Subounthan Khomsacsit, in Vientiane on April 13.
Under the MoU, the Youth Pioneers Newspaper will help train young people who work for the Laos newspaper, especially in writing and design.
It will provide knowledge of the market, distribution, management and ways of creating income, as well as supporting the Lao young journalists’ club.
Both will regularly exchange news and features for publishing in each other’s paper, which will help young readers in both countries to understand more about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
They will liaise together more closely to provide books and stories for children. Vietnamese children’s books will be translated into Lao and be printed and published in Laos.
They will also hold regular meetings to exchange views and assess the results of their bilateral cooperation and put forward ideas for the future.
This will add to the already established friendship and solidarity between the two countries as well as mark the Vietnam-Laos Year of Friendship and Solidarity 2012.
