Party Secretary General and President Choummaly Sayasone yesterday received the visiting Army Chief from the Democratic People's Republic of Korean (DPRK), Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, at the Presidential Palace.
The Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army (KPA), who is also a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and chief of the General Staff of the KPA, led a high-ranking military delegation of the DPRK on an official visit to Laos from May 8-11.

President Choummaly warmly welcomed Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, saying he highly valued the visit of the delegation, which would further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, especially between the two armies.
The Vice Marshal thanked the President for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation.
During their visit, the DPRK delegation worked and held talks with their Lao counterparts.
The Vice Marshal paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Lieutenant General Duangchay Phichit.
The delegation laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument.
