Sengnouane Sayalat, who is also Chief of the General Political Department of the Lao People’s Army, briefed his host on the outcome of the talks between the two military delegations, as well as the cooperation and mutual support between the two Defence Ministries over the past years.
He affirmed that his ministry will continue to closely coordinate with Vietnam’s Ministry of Defence to effectively implement the signed protocol and activities in celebrating the current Friendship and Solidarity Year between the two nations.
The Lao official congratulated Vietnam on the successes that the country has achieved during the past years, expressing his gratitude for the effective and valuable support that Vietnam has given to Laos in the past and at present. Laos will do their utmost to preserve and develop the special relations, he said.
Mr Trong said he is pleased to see the fine development of the special relationship and solidarity that Vietnam and Laos have enjoyed and praised the close and effective coordination between the Defence Ministries in various practical activities to celebrate the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year,
He also spoke highly of the visit’s outcome, saying that he hopes the two ministries will continue to develop their tradition to successfully perform all the given tasks, ensuring the implementation of the signed protocol, political stability and security, and social order in each country.
Party leader Trong asked the two ministries to boost delegation exchanges, sharing information and experience, as well as helping each other in personnel training.
On the occasion, Mr Trong sent his regards to Lao Party leader and President Choumaly Sayasone and other Party and State leaders.
Earlier, the Lao guest held talks with a Vietnamese delegation, led by Sen. Lieut. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich, Secretary of Party Central Committee and Head of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army.
The two sides reviewed the implementation of cooperation plans between the two general departments of politics since 2011 and discussed orientations for their future cooperation in various fields.
The Lao delegation was also received by General Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo member and Minister of National Defence on the same day.
