(Lawrenceville, Georgia) Four people have been arrested following a long term gambling investigation that led to two search warrants at different locations. The investigation began after police received citizen complaints of illegal gambling happening at the H&S Gift Shop located at 1848 Old Norcross Rd in Lawrenceville.
The business was a front for a "Bookie Style" gambling operation. Yesterday search warrants were served at the H&S Gift Shop and the owner's home in Lawrenceville. Those search warrants led to the seizure of over $244,000 in cash, four vehicles, and numerous counterfeit items. The four suspects were charged with a total of six felonies for commercial gambling violations, three misdemeanors for counterfeit trademark violations, and an alcohol license violation at the business.
Due to the nature of this type of investigation, detectives are still working to determine the magnitude of the gambling operation. As a result, we are limited with the amount of information that we can release. This is still a very active investigation and it is likely that additional charges and arrests will occur.
