Why is a shock????? The prostitution is probably the oldest profession that exist in many cultures and countries every where around a globe. It's a major a major business in Thailand for many years. The only thing is that they are like a wild fire that spread all over Southeast Asia (Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia), simply because there's no jobs for everyone. LPDR government don't really care about its citizens and very soon they will sell their own children and grand children!!! I guess it's only a shock because they got caught RED handed!!!!
Moreover, if you really want to help improve and betterment of the citizen in Laos then invest in education, jobs, health care and everything else will fall into places. It's a shame to see these evil LPDR regime that really run the country down to the ground.... The poor are getting poorer and the corrupted party members are getting richer!!! Do you call this a modernize Laos???? I hope you can see be a witness that Laos soon will be just a minority group in its country. If and only if the citizens really want to change then the wave of change will take place otherwise it will be just a hope and dream!!! How can we learn from East & West Germany??? What about some other Eastern block countries that break out from USSR???? How can we work together to resolve these issues? It takes everyone of us in here to make a different and definitely more brains are better than one point of view!!!
A delegation of war veterans from Transport Regiment 410 of Vietnam’s High Command 959 is visiting old battlefields in Laos from July 3-12.
The visit was made to mark the 34th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18) and the 64th anniversary of Vietnam’s Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27).
The Lao Veterans’ Association’s Vice Chairman, Sivan Utthachac, said on July 6 he was pleased to receive former Vietnamese voluntary soldiers, who had stood side by side with the Lao people in the transport front, providing food and weapons for the Lao battlefields.
The Pathet Lao soldiers and Lao people always keep in mind the Vietnamese volunteers’ merit and pledge to maintain the development of the Laos-Vietnam relationship, he said.
On behalf of the Vietnamese veterans, Colonel Pham Trong Thi said the Vietnamese veterans will never forget the pure and faithful love between Vietnam and Laos and will do their utmost to help future generations understand more about this special relationship, helping foster the friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
They will visit old battlefields in Savannakhet, Khammouan and Bolikhamsay provinces where they served during the war.
