Chinese Govt further support different construction projects to Laos
The Government of People’s Republic of China has further agreed to provide the existing bilateral cooperation on economic and technical term and financial support and grant to the Government of Lao PDR.
Vice President of the Lao PDR Bounnhang Vorachit, and senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Zhou Yongkang, centre right and left witness a signing of grant assistance from China.
The agreements were made by two sides in Vientiane Capital on 18 August in the presence of the LPRP CC Politburo member, Standing Member of the Party Secretarial Committee Mr. Bounnhang Vorachit who is also Vice President of the Lao PDR and a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) a Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and legal affair of CPC Central Committee Mr. Zhou Yongkang.
The agreements have been signed, ranging from economic and technical cooperation, 150 million yuan grant or 187 billion kip, 50 million yuan-low interest loan or 62.5 billion kip, 450 million yuan or 562 billion kip of financial support for the construction project of Lao International Conference Centre, 10 million yuan of drugs inspection equipments to 3 million yuan of security guard equipments.
Besides there have been agreements on credit loan for special purchaser for the construction of transmission line stretching from Seset dam 2 to Saravane province and the improvement of electricity network system in Vientiane Capital, construction of Nam Ngiep 2 hydropower dam for China, the construction of Mekong River Bridge in Parkbeng district Oudomsay province, the improvement of Xiengkhounag Airport and a joint investment in the construction of Nam Ou Hydropower Dam.
