(KPL) Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the United Nations held a nationwide training course on human rights for law students on August 24-September7 at the National Agriculture Research Institute, Vientiane Capital.

“The aim of the training is to ensure the law students realise the international conventions the Lao PDR has ratified and its engagement in cooperation on human rights at regional and international arenas and the government policy on human rights issues,” said Office Head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vichit Sindavong. “The training constitutes human resource development in the country and the human rights is priority of the government. The law educational institutes play an important role in human resource development for the socio-economic development,”
Present at the opening ceremony for the training course were Office Head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vichit Sindavong and UN representatives, academics and law students.
