New master plan necessary for Vientiane Water Supply development
Vientiane Water Supply Enterprise signed here an agreement with the Mai Dong Company Limited (Vietnam) on making a master plan on the development of the enterprise on 9 September.

Signatories to the document were the Director of the Vientiane Water Supply Enterprise Mr. Daophet Bouapha and Director of the Mai Dong Company Limited, Mr. Nguyen Viet Ha in the witness of Vice Mayor of Vientiane Capital, Mr. Keophilavanh Amphaylath, and relevant officials of both sides.
Even though, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency and the French international development organisation (AFD) made a master plan for the Vientiane Water Supply Enterprise in 2004, the enterprise finds it necessary to have new master plan to ensure its development and water supply in the capital city between 2015 and 2030.
The Enterprise’s contractor is expected to spend six months, from October onward, to complete the master plan making.
The move constitutes an effort by the Enterprise to increase water consumption to 95 per cent by the population of the capital city by 2015 and 100 per cent by 2020.
