Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachith welcomes Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich and Vietnamese military political delegates
Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich, who is also a Member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Member of the Party Military Central Commission and Head of the General Department of Politics, thanked Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachith for his warm welcome and informed him of the results of the working session between the Vietnamese delegation and the Lao Defence Minister, Senior Lieutenant-General Douangchay Phichith, and leaders of the Lao General Department of Politics.
Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich also briefed Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachith of the current situation in the world, the region and especially in Vietnam and guidelines of the Vietnam Communist Party to carry out the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress, the comprehensive cooperation between two General Departments of Politics of Vietnam-Laos and the special traditional bilateral friendship.
On behalf of the Lao Party, State and Defence Ministry’s leaders, Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachith highly valued the visit of Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich and his delegation and the result of the talks between Vietnamese and Lao General Departments of Politics.
The Lao Vice-President believed that the two armies and General Departments of Politics of Vietnam and Laos would do their best to implement agreements and documents already signed by their Party and State leaders, making contributions to promoting and strengthening the Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
Moreover, Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachith also pointed out that two armies should further promote their cooperation in traditional cultural education, exchanges of visits, training and in repatriating remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who had sacrificed their lives in Laos and in consolidating peace and developing the common border between two nations.
Effective cooperation between the two armies would serve as a key springboard to enhance and tighten the Vietnam-Laos traditional and special ties, he added.
The Lao leader also expressed his elation at the successes of the visit to China by Vietnamese Party General Secretary and believed that the agreements signed by Vietnamese and Chinese leaders would help strengthen stability in each nation, the region and the rest of the world.
For his part, Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich thanked Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachith for his fine assessments on the Vietnam-Laos relations, Vietnam-related issues and regional, world situations and pledged to do his utmost for the preservation and development of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
