President Sang welcomed the Chief Judge’s visit to Vietnam, which, he said, contributed to strengthening the relationship and cooperation between the two Parties, States and people.
He applauded the results of talks between the two countries’ court sector, adding that he hopes the two sides will implement more cooperative activities, enhance delegation exchanges and help each other in personnel training.
Khamphanh Sitthidampha affirmed his thanks for Vietnam’s support, saying the professional skills of the Laos court sector staff have been much improved.
The results of talks between him and his Vietnamese counterpart are expected to deepen the special solidarity and friendship between the two countries, he said, adding that the sectors are exchanging information, sharing experience and helping each other with judicial reform, contributing to boosting the socio-economic development of both nations.
Vietnam is on the path to judicial reform and is willing to share its experience with Laos in order to raise the quality of the courts, President Truong Tan Sang told visiting Head of the Lao People’s Supreme Court Khamphan Sithidampha yesterday.

Sang applauded the results of talks held between the two court sectors and hoped the co-operation would continue, citing the exchange of delegations and support for each other in human resources training.
For his part, Sithidampha affirmed that Viet Nam’s assistance in this area had already improved the professional skills and knowledge of officials of the Laotian court sector.
The two sides applauded the active exchange of information, the sharing of experiences and the mutual support for judicial reform, all of which contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of the two countries.
Appreciation expressed
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung separately met with Lao Finance Minister Phouphet Khamp-hounvong and Palestinian Minister of Home Affairs and National Security Said Adb Al-Rahman Ahmad Abu-Ali yesterday.
At his meeting with Khamphounvong, PM Dung expressed his appreciation for the Lao official’s visit to Vietnam and praised the results of talks between the two finance ministries, describing them as an important and practical contribution to strengthening the traditional Vietnam-Laos friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive co-operation.
The Vietnam-Laos partnership is an invaluable treasure of both Parties, States and peoples, the PM said, adding that Vietnam would promote the two countries’ ties in a deeper, more practical and effective manner. In particular, the two sides will accelerate new co-operative programmes, especially in areas agreed upon by both countries.
Dung welcomed co-operation between the two finance ministries in sharing experiences and assisting one another in personnel training.
Minister Khamphounvong spoke highly of efforts by Vietnamese experts to help develop the Lao financial sector.
He affirmed a commitment to effectively implementing bilateral agreements, contributing to maintaining and promoting the Laos-Vietnam traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive co-operation.
At talks held earlier between Finance Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and his Lao counterpart Khamphunvong, the two sides discussed measures to foster financial co-operation between the two countries. Following the talks, further agreements were signed pertaining to financial co-operation during 2011-15, as well as financial regulations and the use of non-refundable loans between the Vietnamese and Lao governments.
Results praised
While in talks with the Palestinian Minister of Home Affairs and National Security, Dung lauded the results of talks and agreements between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Palestinian Ministry of Home Affairs and National Security, saying that the outcomes were practical and would contribute to boosting relations.
He congratulated Palestine on its recent achievements, particularly its UNESCO membership, affirming Vietnam’s support to the Palestinian people in their struggle for independence and for the fundamental rights.
He also affirmed his support for Palestine’s stated policy of peaceful negotiations with Israel.
In reply, the Palestinian Minister said his people wished to seek a peaceful solution through negotiations with Israel, and asked for the international community to promptly recognise the state of Palestine.
He also said he wanted Vietnam to support the Palestinian people’s just struggle and affirmed Palestine has always considered Vietnam to be a traditional friend willing to boost economic, cultural and security co-operation.
