Vietnamese transport ministry delegation visits Laos

A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Transport, led by Minister Dinh La Thang, paid a working visit to Laos from December 12-14.
At the meeting with Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, Minister Thang congratulated the Lao leader on being elected as Prime Minister, expressing a belief that Thongsing will continue to promote and nurture the special relationship and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries.
The Minister informed the Lao Prime Minister about recent co-operative results from the two countries’ transport sector, saying that Vietnam and Laos will co-operate further in several fields and also celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Thongsing applauded the delegation’s visit, expressing his gratitude for the support of the Vietnamese Party and State and Ministry of Transport to Laos, to help the country build infrastructure, contributing to economic development and integration.
He expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport will assist Laos to complete unfinished projects being carried out by the Ministry in the country.
In the framework of the visit, Minister Thang also held talks with Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport Sommad Pholsena. At the talks, the two leaders reviewed recent co-operative results.
The two ministers agreed that the two sides will increase exchange of delegations in order to promote research and experience sharing in all fields.
They will also co-operate closely at multilateral and regional forums, with the aims of strengthening the special friendship and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries.
