About 2 weeks ago some local level meetings were held between Laos and Thailand for the construction of a bridge between Bueng Khan in Thailand and Pakxane in Laos - see the YouTube movie in Thai language). Although nothing seems to be fixed yet about the proposed schedule for completion nor with regard how it will be financed, it can be expected that in due course a bridge will be constructed here to replace the ferry service.
