Laos grants orders to units and individuals under the General Department II

PANO – 7 units and 22 individuals under the General Department II received noble orders and medals from the Lao State and Defence Ministry on the afternoon of February 28 th , in Hanoi.

A number of high-ranking Lao officials, namely Lieutenant-General Chansamon Chanhalat, the Lao Deputy-Defence Minister and Somphone Sichaleune, the Lao Ambassador to Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese Deputy-Defence Minister, Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Chi Vinh and the Vice-Director of the General Department of Politics, Lieutenant-General Dao Duy Minh attended the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, Lieutenant-General Chansamon Chanhalat highly appreciated important achievements of the units and individuals under the General Department II, which, according to him had contributed to the Laotian Revolution as well as strengthened the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

On behalf of the grantees, Lieutenant-General Luu Duc Huy, Chief of the General Department II, expressed his thanks to the Lao Party, State and Military for the noble orders, and affirmed that the General Department would successfully finish all the assigned tasks to celebrate the Vietnam and Laos Friendship Year 2012.
