Photo exhibition on Vietnam - Laos friendship opens in Son La

On April 23rd, the Vietnam News Agency worked with the National Assembly’s External Affairs Commission, the Son La Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee and the Son La Newspaper to organise a photo exhibition, “Vietnam-Laos Special Friendship and Solidarity”, in Son La Province.

The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Vietnam’s NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and Laos’ NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotu.

“Vietnam-Laos Special Friendship and Solidarity” is part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, the 35th year of the signing of Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty as well as to welcome Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year and “Cooperation Relations between the NAs of Vietnam and Laos” Conference.

More than 150 black-and-white photos are divided into parts: special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos and Son La Province and northern provinces of Laos. These photos, taken by reporters, feature historic moments of national-level meetings among leaders of the two countries, development periods of special friendship and solidarity between parties, states, NAs, governments and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

Besides, the exhibition also introduces valuable historic documents, reflecting the solidarity between Vietnamese and Lao people in struggles for freedom as well as in the cause of national construction and development.
