US Human Rights Report on Vietnam’s situation not objective
(VOV) - Some of the comments on the situation in Vietnam stated in the US Human Rights Report 2011 are not objective, says Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi
In response to reporters’ query about Vietnam’s reaction to the US State Department's Human Rights Report 2011, Nghi said although the report recognises Vietnam’s achievements in implementing human rights, some of the comments are based on untrue information about the situation in the country.
The spokesman said in the past years, Vietnam-US relationship has seen positive development in various fields with exchange of issues of mutual concern, including human rights.
The maintenance of dialogue in a frank and constructive manner and mutual respect has contributed to boosting the bilateral relationship for mutual benefit, he said.
