The Command of Military Zone 4 has received the second class Freedom Order from the Lao State and Government.
On behalf of the Lao government, Savanakhet provincial deputy governor Khamphoi Phanthachon presented the order to the Vietnamese MZ.
On this occasion, Laos also presented Friendship Medals to 2 individuals, third class Labour Orders to 6 individuals under Military Zone 4’s armed forces, and Lieutenant-General Nguyen Huu Cuong, the MZ’s commander, and Major-General Vo Van Viet, the MZ’s commissar.
3 individuals from Military Zone 4’s armed forces also received Savannakhet Provincial certificates of merit.
Noble orders and medals from the Lao State and Government for Vietnamese army individuals are in recognition of their outstanding achievements in assisting Savannakhet Province in studying and displaying the “Laos-Vietnam fighting alliance” museum in Ban Dong to restore a magnanimous historical period of the two countries’ troops and people in the wars against common enemies, contributing to beautifying the long-lasting solidarity between the two neighbouring countries, as well as to celebrate “Vietnam-Laos Friendship Solidarity Year-2012”, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the cooperation friendship treaty between Vietnam and Laos.
