Vietnam hands over 3 alleged drug smugglers to Laos
Nghe An border guards have transferred to Lao authorities three Laotians accused of attempting to smuggling a large amount of heroin and methamphetamine into Vietnam’s north-central province.
They said at around 5 p.m. on May 16, some residents tipped them about the smuggling ring, Dan Tri news website reported.
The anti-drug crime police force and border guards at the Nam Can Border Gate coordinated with Laos’ Xieng Khoang police to arrest Gia Pa Cu, Gia Va Chu and Gia Dong Di.
The trio was traveling in a car from Muong Kham to Noong Het in Laos.
Inspecting the car, the joint force found around 7.5 kilograms of heroin and 2,000 methamphetamine tablets.
They also seized the car, two motorbikes, a knife and cash from the arrestees.
